Shawn Smith, District Attorney

Shawn J. Smith has been a member of the Young Republicans of Delaware County, NY. In 2022, after the then-District Attorney John Hubbard was elected to County Judge; 1st Assistant District Attorney Shawn J. Smith stepped up to the role of Acting District Attorney. Since then he has made it a priority to put law and order first during his tenure, and he continues to serve as Acting District Attorney until after election day when he gets duly elected to the office after running unopposed. He resides in Grand Gorge with his wife Brianne who is a Culinary Professor at SUNY Delhi.

Katie Taggart, Delaware County GOP Chair

Katie Taggart has been a member of the Young Republicans since 2023. She currently is the Chairwoman of the Delaware County Republican Committee as of October, 2023 and is currently serving on the Walton Town Republican Committee. She previously served as the Secretary of the Delaware County Republican Committee. She is employed with Caldwell Banker as a Real Estate Agent.
